Benjamin Lacina, YAI Artistic & Education Director, is YAI’s co-founder and artistic director, and along with David Holewinski, holds the history and embodies the vision of the organization. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Vocal Music Education, Master’s Degree in Gifted Education, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. He taught elementary music in Saint Paul for seven years, served as Arts Coordinator for Anoka Middle School for the Arts, three years as Teaching & Learning Specialist for K-12 Talent Development in the Anoka-Hennepin School District, and is the Program Manager for Creative Arts Secondary School in downtown Saint Paul.
David Holewinski, YAI Board Member, has been involved with the organization since its inaugural season, and is currently working as a Mental Health Social Worker at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. He has prior experience with diverse populations including persons with disabilities and traumatic brain injury. David handles participant fees and artistic budgets, serves as volunteer manager, and helps with social and/or family issues that may arise. David has a Master’s Degree of Clinical Social Work with a minor in Chemical Dependency Counseling from the University of St. Thomas.
.Barbara Deming, YAI Board Chair, is a senior management consultant for the State of Minnesota, and has assisted state and local agencies, multi-agency stakeholder groups and education institutions with organizational assessment and planning since 1988. She is also the proud mom of two YAI alumni.
Ray Krause, YAI Board Member, is assisting the board with exploration of possibilities now that we have achieved 501c3 status, and is a key contact with YAI’s Preferred Partner Affinity Plus and Park Square Theatre, where he serves on the board. Ray is the parent of a YAI alumnus, and prior to retirement served as chief administrative law judge for Minnesota’s Office of Administrative Hearings and as Hamline Law School Dean.
James McCormick, YAI Board Member is a software engineer and consultant in addition to being a theater fan and YAI parent.
Timothy Moy, YAI Board Member is a senior business analyst at Delta Airlines and a proud parent of two YAI alumni.
Laurie Mucciacciaro, YAI Board Member is an independent software consultant, has been an active participant in the last six YAI shows, and is the mother of two YAI alumni.
